Seeking Support for Kids Vending Day

Dear BFM Supporters,

We are reaching out today to ask you for a special request.

The Bellingham Farmers Market has a long history of running a program called "Kids Vending Day." This is a special day where kids under 16 can bring their homemade crafts to the farmers market and sell them in a designated area. Kids get hands-on business experience and it makes our market so lively!

Kids Vending Day is currently on pause.

Kids Vending Day has been a beloved program in our community, but we are having a difficult time finding a non-profit or community group to help us run it.

Our ideal community partner is:

  • A local non-profit or community group that focuses on food or farming, children's education, or the betterment of our youth.

  • Is available to help us run Kids Vending Day on at least three market days this year.

Being the community partner would also entail helping kids register, interacting with families and customers throughout the day, having guardians sign waivers, and providing BFM proof of liability insurance.

Do you know any specific people at an organization like this who might be interested? If so, please have them contact us to see if it might be a good fit!

Contact: market@bellinghamfarmers.org or call 360-647-2060

We get so many requests to bring Kids Vending Day back...but we need your support to help make it happen.

Thanks for reading.

Sincerely,
Lora Liegel
Market Director
