MARKET DIRECTOR:

The Bellingham Farmers Market is looking for a full-time Market Director to manage and guide this growing non-profit. With over 25 years of history in Bellingham, our mission is to support local farmers and artisans in a thriving marketplace. The Bellingham Farmers Market is the fifth biggest in Washington State and has over 150 vendor-members at bi-weekly markets. Responsibilities include working closely with the Board of Directors and membership, budget oversight, ensuring policy compliance within membership, management and hiring of market staff, maintaining vendor communications, market promotion, working as a liaison for the Market and other duties as assigned. A successful candidate will have high-level communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills, the ability to work with diverse populations and to multitask while meeting deadlines. The Bellingham Farmers Market offers a competitive salary, DOE. Consideration will be given to applications as soon as they are received. SITE MANAGER:

The Bellingham Farmers Market is looking for a full-time Site Manager to oversee the on-site operations of our Saturday and Wednesday markets. With nearly 150 vendors, the Bellingham Farmers Market is the fifth biggest in Washington State. During market hours and with direction from the Market Director, the Site Manager is the “go-to” person for vendors, city officials, health inspectors and market visitors. The position requires effective communication, diplomacy and occasional dispute resolution skills. The Site Manager will make sure market policies are being followed and will be tasked with making the market a safe, comfortable and lively marketplace for vendors and customers. The Site Manager will coordinate and oversee market set-up in the morning and break-down in the afternoon. The Site Manager will also administer the EBT (food stamps) program, operate the market booth and collect all stall fees at the end of each market. Between markets the Site Manager will assist the Market Director in various administrative and other tasks as directed. The Site Manager should have an interest in local agriculture and community building, must have a car and current WA State driver’s license and be willing and able to work outside in occasionally adverse conditions. We’re offering competitive wages, DOE. Consideration will be given to applications as soon as they are received.
