The Bellingham Farmers Market hosts festivals throughout the season. These are exciting days in the Market when vendors showcase their specialty products, music is played and entertainment is scheduled all day. Often times, special activities are available for children. We encourage families to soak it all in and take advantage of these fun-filled all-ages events.
In addition to festival days,
the market welcomes musicians
and entertainers to perform on
other days at the Market. See
"" section for more information
about performing. In this way,
each market day has a variety
of music filling the air that
is played by musicians of all ages. Also
a colorful mix of entertainers
usually perform, including clowns,
jugglers, and theatre arts performers,
who show off their talents.

Kids Day In The Market Means Fun!
Learn about: kids can sample
fresh fruits and vegetables;
making kid-friendly and kid-capable
recipes; create terrific crafts
to take home; and explore with
science experiments. Plus, there's
typically music, balloon performers,
jugglers, and other great things
for kids to see and do.
On the last Saturday of the month kids are encouraged to vend at the Market. This is a great opportunity for children to learn about commerce and raise money from items they make or grow. In past seasons kids have brought to market: flowers, produce, jewelry, cards, paintings and a whole variety of things they have made or grown. Often, kids make more than just a little pocket change they are very pleased experiencing the financial rewards of hard work.

Kids Vending Day
If you know a kid who is interested in vending at the Bellingham
Farmers be sure to have them
or their parents reserve space
ahead of time by calling the
Market office at 360/647-2060
or by signing up at the Market
information booth on Saturdays.
Kids must call each month that
they want to reserve space. The
cost is $5 per day. Kids need
to arrive between 9:15 and 9:30
am and be set up and ready for
the Market to open at 10 am.
Kids should bring everything
they need to set up a booth,
this includes tables and chairs.
Please be sure to bring protection
from the elements-lots of sunscreen
in the summer! It is important
to note kids are responsible
for setting up and clean up their
own booth space.
Kids are allowed to only sell items that they make or grow. Please note that it can be difficult to sell prepared food items; all prepared food that is sold in the Market must be made in a certified kitchen approved by the Whatcom County Health Department.
If you have any questions please speak with the volunteers or the Market Manager at the Market Information Booth at the Saturday Market.
