Vendor Profile
My name is Jesse Larsen, I am an artist, writer, and organizing coach. I am also the first vendor at the Saturday market to bring my display on the bus. My goal is to make art that is other-wise, enriching, and affordable while demonstrating how to do more with less.
Products
My block-print products include:
• Ready-to-frame hand-pulled prints that I print using either Sumi or oil-based ink on recycled dictionary, bible, and other printed and blank book pages, starting at $15.
• Print reproductions cards, magnets, perpetual calendars, and books, from $5. Each of my reproduction products and many of my hand-pulled prints include a quote from my collection. I create and package every piece individually in my Bellingham studio.
About my block prints: I draw and carve single image rubber block prints of things I love, including two cats and dozens of good dogs; the birds my mother loved to watch; a few favorite shoes, musical instruments and other domestic treasures; a scattering of wilder animals, trees, and twigs I love to see, and words. Lots of words. About my words: I am a writer who carves words and collects quotes but it took my daughter (also an artist and writer) to suggest that I combine them. When I am creating a new wordy piece, it often takes as long (or longer) to find the right words as it does to draw and carve the image.
